Dubai is a city that has made a name for itself by pushing the boundaries of the built environment.
One of the world’s glitziest cities, where glass skyscrapers rise from the desert sands, it’s most notably home to the megatall icon that is the Burj Khalifa – not to mention ultra-luxurious hotels and supersize malls.
Its ambitious design plans have proved hugely popular with tourists and investors; indeed, among major cities, Dubai has more hotel rooms per 1,000 people than all cities except for Las Vegas and Orlando.
And it’s not stopping now – big infrastructure projects and further attention-grabbing additions to its skyline, including a rotating skyscraper offering 360 degree views.
Watch the video to find out what makes the city so ambitious in its urban planning and hear Dana Williamson, Head of Agency, JLL MENA and Craig Plumb, Head of Research, JLL MENA, explain the impact on the city and the companies who are part of its changing office market.
